The museum and the LeFleur's Bluff Playground are closed on: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is truly a living classroom and should be considered an important part of any curriculum. A variety of programs are offered including endangered species, mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, plants, and fossils. Other topics may be available by request!
Hands-on presentations are available to groups of 15 to 30 people. Presentations are correlated to the state science curriculum objectives and are both content and grade appropriate. Museum programs feature hands-on activities including observation of live and mounted specimens.
Punctuality is of the utmost importance. Please arrive at the museum 15 minutes prior to your program time. Groups arriving more than 30 minutes late will forfeit their scheduled program; groups that arrive less than 30 minutes late may be able to receive a shortened version of the program.
