Take a Walk on the Wild Side at the Southeast's Best Attraction/Best Museum in Mississippi! Bring your group and your imagination. In addition to guided and self-guided tours, your group can experience behind-the-scenes tours, interact with a SCUBA diver, get up close and personal with alligators, turtles, snakes, and other living creatures, meet a researcher, and more! Groups of all ages will enjoy the museum and a group of just ten visitors qualifies for our special group rate. Whether you have one hour or all day, we can help you create a fun, memorable experience that your group will be talking about for years!

Special Information for Motor Coach Groups

2. Complete the Motorcoach Group Tour Scheduling Request Form and Signature Page, then save and email it to yolanda.hawkins@mmns.state.ms.us or call us at (601) 576-6000.
3. We will contact you to confirm your tour and will send you a free "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" DVD which includes a fun, eight minute museum overview video to show on the motor coach.

Field Trips

MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is truly a living classroom and should be considered an important part of any curriculum. A variety of programs are offered including endangered species, mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, invertebrates, plants, and fossils. Other topics may be available by request!

Hands-on presentations are available to groups of 15 to 30 people. Presentations are correlated to the state science curriculum objectives and are both content and grade appropriate. Museum programs feature hands-on activities including observation of live and mounted specimens.

Punctuality is of the utmost importance. Please arrive at the museum 15 minutes prior to your program time. Groups arriving more than 30 minutes late will forfeit their scheduled program; groups that arrive less than 30 minutes late may be able to receive a shortened version of the program.
