Tombigbee State Park is located six miles south of Tupelo, Mississippi. It offers the finest in outdoor recreation opportunities minutes from Mississippi's premier shopping, dining, and entertainment areas. Tupelo is the site of the bi-annual Tupelo Furniture Market, home of the Elvis Presley Birthplace, and the headquarters of the Natchez Trace Parkway.

East Bound on Hwy 6:

  • Right on Cliff Gookin Blvd. go 7.3 miles or 9 red lights turn right at 9th red light go 1.3 miles Turn left at Dollar General go 3 miles to park entrance.
  • Right on Veterans Blvd. go 2 miles to red light turn left on hwy 6 go ¼ mile follow the signs go 2.6 miles to red light go straight 1.3 miles turn left at Dollar General and go 3 miles to park entrance.
  • Pass Veterans Blvd. go right on Aruban Road 3.5 miles second red light turn left on hwy 6 go 1.3 miles turn left at Dollar General go 3 miles to park entrance.

North Bound on Trace:

  • Right on McCullough Blvd. stay in left lane south to Eason exit right go left under bridge 1.5 miles at red light turn right on hwy 6 go 1.3 miles turn left go 3 miles to park entrance.
  • North 45
    • Exit right on Eason Blvd. go 1.5 miles to 3rd red light turn right go 1.3 miles turn left at Dollar General go 3 miles to park entrance.

South Bound on Trace:

  • Left on 78 5 miles right on Aruban road go 3.5 miles 2nd red light turn left on hwy 6 go 1.3 miles turn left at Dollar General 3.0 miles to park entrance.
  • Left on 78 right on Veterans Blvd. go 2 miles to red light go ¼ mile follow signs go 2.6 miles to red light go strait 1.3 miles to Dollar General turn left go 3.0 miles to park entrance.
  • Highway 45 South right on Eason Blvd. the left under bridge 1.5 miles 2 red light right 1.3 miles left at Dollar General 3.0 miles to park entrance.

West bound on 78:

  • Left on Aruban rd. 3.5 miles 2 red light left on hwy 6 go 1.3 miles left at Dollar General go 3.0 miles to park entrance.

Things To Do

Activities and recreational facilities available at Tombigbee State Park include: picnic area with tables and grills, picnic pavilions, meeting room and banquet facilities, children's playground, multi-use field, volley ball, disc golf, nature trail, 11 mile mountain bike trail and fishing on Lake Lee.

The Visitor Center houses the park office and a meeting/banquet room. Register at the visitor center for use of park facilities and to check in for lodging and camping. The visitor center is located on the banks of Lake Lee.

The meeting room can accommodate groups of about 50 people. Contact the park office at (662) 842-7669 for information on seating capacity, catering service, reservations, and rental fees.

 

Picnic Sites/Pavilions

The park features 37 lakeside picnic sites with tables and grills. The area features views of Lake Lee and the surrounding forested area.

Two picnic pavilions provide a great location for group outings such as family reunions, company picnics, and school or church outings. Each pavilion is located on a wooded hill overlooking Lake Lee. Pavilions are available by reservation up to 24 months in advance by calling the park office at (662) 842-7669.

Playground

Playground equipment is centrally located in the day use area, and features modern units with slides and swings. Also in this area are old favorites such as monkey bars and a merry-go-round.

Volleyball

A sand volleyball court is located in the day use area near the play equipment.

Multi-use Field

A grassed field is available for use by groups for a game of football, baseball, or soccer.

Disc Golf

Tombigbee State Park offers two disc golf courses. Each is an 18-hole, par-three course. These courses wind through the wooded hills of the park, and offer beautiful scenery along with the challenge of the course.

The courses are open to the public free of charge, however, the daily park entrance fee is required. Discs may be rented at the park office.

Boat Launch

Fishing is featured at Lake Lee, a 90 acre freshwater lake stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be purchased at the park office for a nominal fee.

A boat launch and trailer parking is available for park guests who bring their boats to fish. Guests are asked to observe trolling speed only limits. 

No skiing or jet skis are permitted.

Stay The Night

There are several options to stay the night. The park offers 20 developed campsites for RVs or tents, a primitive camping area, 7 cabins, 1 cottage, and a group camp facility.

Reservations are encouraged. Reservations can be made by online reservation or by calling the park at (662) 842-7669. Our online reservation system is hosted by Reserve America.

Developed Camping

The campground features a loop of twenty paved sites that are available for RV or tent camping. All sites are equipped with electricity and water hookups, eighteen of which are also equipped with sewer. Each site is furnished with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring for campers to enjoy.

All campsites are available for advance reservation and can be reserved up to 13 months in advance. Monthly camping may be available. Please check with the park office at (662) 842-7669 for availability.

Tent Camping

A scenic wooded area provides the ideal spot for tent camping. Four primitive camping areas are available, each site provides a fire pit, swing, grill, work table, trash bin, benches, wooden hammock stand, and a tent platform.  There is a separate larger site within the primitive camping area for scouts and similar groups.

Laundry Facilities

A bathhouse with hot showers is centrally located in the campground. Laundry facilities are located in bathhouse.

Sewage Dump Station

A sewage dump station is located on the main park road for park campground patrons

Vacation Cabins

Tombigbee features seven air-conditioned cabins offering forest and lake views. Cabins are equipped with basic kitchen equipment, bed and bath linens, tv, and feature fire places and screened porches or patios.  Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made up to 13-months in advance. 

Pets are not allowed in the cabin or cabin area. Smoking is not allowed in any State Park building (including cabins and cottages).

  • Minimum length of stay from May 15th through August 15th is 3 nights on the weekends, holidays and special events and no minimum during the week (weekend is a Friday and Saturday night stay).
  • Minimum length of stay from August 16th through May 14th is 3 nights on the holidays and special events, 2 nights on the weekends and no minimum during the week. (Weekend is a
    Friday and Saturday night stay.)
  • A 3 night minimum is required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
  • A 2 night minimum is required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter.
  • Lodging stay includes but is not limited to fishing and boat launch. These activities are limited to the registered number of guests per unit, not to exceed occupancy. Visitors of the guests must pay for all entrance and activities. Call park for activities not included.
  • Pets are not allowed in lodging facilities or on the grounds of lodging facilities.
  • All buildings are no smoking.

The cottage is a modern two bedroom unit with one queen bed and one full bed and a combination living, dining, and kitchen area. It has central air and heat, basic kitchen equipment, tv, bed and bath linens,  outdoor grill, and patio table/chairs.   Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made up to 24-months in advance. 

Pets are not allowed in the cottage or cottage area. Smoking is not allowed in any State Park building (including cabins and cottages).

Group Camp

The group camp is designed to accommodate groups of 25 people or more up to a maximum of 50 people. It features an air conditioned and heated dorm, which will sleep 50 people. The dorm features two bunk rooms (each sleep 25) and a meeting room. Dorm guests must furnish their own bed linens and bath accessories. 
Meals are served, cafeteria style, in the dining hall. Fees are charged per person, per meal, and lodging per night.

Group Camp Minimum Requirements

  • 40 guests, 6 meals, 2 nights stay during peak season (May 15 - August 15)
  • 24 guests, 3 meals, 1 night stay during the off season (August 16 - May 14)
