Largemouth BassBass fishing has been slow. Numbers of small fish are being caught with one fish weighing 6.1 pounds being landed. Try bass fishing near the bank and out to water depths of 4 foot with Texas rigged lizards, buzz baits, and Chatter baits.
CrappieCrappie fishing has been fair with one angler landing 27. Try crappie fishing creek channels with chartreuse hair jigs, bobby garland mayflies in cajun cricket, or live minnows.
BreamBream fishing has been slow with few anglers targeting bream. Try bream fdishing around vegetation, woody cover, or along the rip rap with crickets or red worms.
CatfishCatfishing is good with a lot of fish being caught. Try tight lining marinated chicken or night crawlers.

  • Only rod and reel or pole fishing is allowed on State Fising Lakes except that carp, gar, buffalo, and bowfin may be taken by use of bow and arrow at night only after purchaing a valid permit for fishing and/or boating. No other gear is allowed at these lakes.
  • Fishing is not allowed from courtesy piers adjacent to boat ramps. Night fishing is allowed from the bank or boats which are in compliancy with state and coast guard regulations.

Statewide creel and size limits apply to all other fish species.
