Largemouth BassBass fishing has been slow. Try targeting bass along ledges and depth changes with crank baits and soft plastics. Brush piles should also be holding fish. Try working jigs or Texas rigged creature baits around the brush piles. Some bass are starting to be seen shallow.
CrappieCrappie fishing has been poor. Try targeting crappie on drop offs and deep water brush piles. Crappie are liekly to be scattered with some fish being suspended while others are holding to the bottom. Try live minnows or jigs in cajun cricket or electric chicken.
BreamBream fishing ahs been slow. Anglers have had success with red worms fished on Bottom.
CatfishCatfishing has been poor.

  • Only rod and reel or pole fishing is allowed on State Fishing Lakes except that carp, gar, buffalo, and bowfin may be taken by use of bow and arrow at night only after purchasing a valid permit for fishing and/or boating. No other gear is allowed at these lakes.
  • Fishing is not allowed from courtesy piers adjacent to boat ramps. Night fishing is not allowed from the bank or boats at Lake Bill Waller.

Fishing Creel Limits and Length Limits apply to all other fish species.
